PROCESS - SPACE / 2020
At the beginning of 2020, the Process - Space Festival lost its founder - Dimitar Grozdanov. It was a sad year for all his family, colleagues, and friends. The conditions in 2020 were also exacerbated by the global Covid pandemic, which blocked activity in many areas of life, including the sphere of culture and art. At this moment, the team of the Process - Space Foundation decided that in 2020 there would be no real edition of the festival, in mourning and sadness and in line with the national regulations for gathering and organizing public events.
Separately and independently from the team of the Foundation, and without prior agreement with the other members (Hristina Bobokova and Plamen Bobokov), Penka Mincheva organized the online edition of the festival under the motto “The Gardens of Paradise”. The team of the organization was not aware of the regulations of this edition, and what the communication of the “organizer” with the participants had been. The artworks received for this informal edition were not made available to the Foundation and we only witnessed images of them circulating on social media. The team of the Foundation found out about Penka Mincheva's self-initiative post factum, in August 2020, as she was not engaged by us for this activity.
Despite the misunderstandings, in 2020, the Process-Space Foundation organized the exhibition “Exhibition - Original Posters by Christo and Jean Claude” in Arosita Gallery, 12 Vrabcha Street, Sofia, from 1 to 15 September 2020. The exhibition was in memory of Dimitar Grozdanov and Christo, both of whom left this world in the same year. Penka Mincheva was contracted to participate in the organization of this exhibition.
