LOST FOREST
DOZA gallery, 5-19 March 2026 г.

"LOST FOREST presents different creative visions that intertwine and remind us that the forest is not just a physical place, but a state of mind that we can still discover if we have the senses to look for it. Urbanization, neon lights, city noise, the fast pace of life, environmental problems, cold relationships, the lack of tolerance and harmony escalate when a person forgets his nature and connection with the forest, the grass, the mountain, the earth... LOST FOREST is a metaphor for our everyday life and surroundings" - shares Hristina Bobokova.
In fiction, the forest is not just a natural environment, but a place of trials, transitions, and transformations. The forest is a place of loss, where the hero enters to undergo trials, a magical space, a place of dangers and challenges, a “parallel scene” in which the characters lose themselves to experience inner change. The “lost forest” is a metaphor for hidden knowledge or a forbidden place.
Outside of literature, however, society is surrounded by the noise and dynamics of the big city, technology obsesses our daily lives, we are dependent on our phones, we communicate through social networks, sometimes we seek an escape from all this, but we fail to do so successfully. The memories of contemplating the forest, the mountain, the dignified swaying of the lonely trees, the quiet blue sky above them are deja vu of sweet, familiar past moments. This is a journey through the shadows of a feeling of childhood memory, of our first contacts with nature, of distant and exciting journeys that we have lost, but which continue to pulsate in our minds.
